Dannebrog Café Bar and Grill
Dannebrog Café Bar and Grill was born on 11th of August 2006 with the aim to provide great quality food at a fair price and friendly and speedy service and of course a bit of "Danish Hygge".
The Danish flag is called "Dannebrog", which is Old Danish for "The Danish Cloth". We decided being danish on the name "Dannebrog" to keep the close connection between our Tasmanian Princess Mary and Prince Frederik of Denmark.
While we do not have any Danish food on our menu (no herring as it's illegal to import herring to Tasmania), we do however have that Danish spirit and we speak Danish.
You can just drop in and relax with a "Danes Gourmet Coffee" or a glass of "Flemming Aaberg" wine, typically Danish-style, made right here on the coast, why not sit in our comfy lounge and perhaps watch the latest news or sport on our plasma TV or sit outside in our court yard, for a bit of sunshine and see the world go by. If you get your timing right, watch the Spirit arrive or depart.
What about brunch (11 am to 3 pm) for only $10? Plenty of dishes to chose from. We serve the best yearling meat you can get in Tasmania and cook it on our grill in the restaurant, or maybe try some fresh Tasmanian fish or a chicken dish or Pasta, whatever you feel like, we will have it big or small; yes, we do cater for the kids with their own menu. Whatever the occasion, you are always welcome at Dannebrog Café Bar and Grill. Come and experience the European, warmth and sociable (hygge) hospitality of Jan, Wendy and the Dannebrog team. Make that special outing a memorable Dannebrog experience, and if you dare, take the challenge and get your name on our Extraordinary hungry wall!
We are open from 11.30 am until 9.30 pm, 7 days a week Monday and Sunday closing 8.30 pm .
